Annual International Conference: Social Policy in Asia

in social welfare policy since 2011. The first conference initiated as an academic seminar with major social welfare research institutions in Japan and China and has gradually expanded the network and scale of the event. Held at the end of each year, the annual conference now invites internationally renowned scholars not only from East Asia but also from Southeast Asia, Europe and North America. In line with the expansion, the seminar was renamed to ‘East Asian International Conference in Social Welfare Policy’ in 2016, and to ‘Social Policy in Asia’ in 2019.

In 2020, as part of the SNU 10-10 project, the Institute plans to commence the ‘Annual International Symposium in Population Dynamics and Social Policy’, jointly with the Institute for Social Development and Policy Research at the SNU Department of Sociology.
